Marble Talent are working with a well-established company who are looking to add an experienced Engineering Manager to their team. You will lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Installation and Service department, ensuring all projects and services are delivered efficiently, safely, and on time. This role includes managing and supporting a team of Install Engineers and subcontractors, coordinating with the Service Manager to allocate resources, and optimising departmental productivity and profitability. The post holder will also track project progress and financial performance, ensuring monthly revenue targets are met and that projects adhere to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Team Management: Lead, manage, and support the installation and service engineering team, including subcontractors. Ensure effective allocation of resources and smooth project execution. Address day-to-day escalations and provide hands-on site support when required.
2. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all installation projects comply with the company's health and safety obligations.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with the Service Manager and Operations Manager to align departmental goals and improve delivery processes.
4. Performance Management: Monitor and manage the performance of engineers and subcontractors, addressing any issues to ensure high-quality project outcomes. Conduct performance reviews, technical assessments, and audits as needed.
5. HR and Staffing: Handle HR-related tasks within the team, including recruitment, staff development, and managing queries in collaboration with the HR Manager. Approve timesheets, manage holidays, and oversee team absences.
6. Project Management: Oversee the lifecycle of all installation projects, from technical evaluation and planning to execution and close-out. Conduct site surveys, audits, and ensure the quality of installations. Ensure any project changes or additional work are agreed upon with clients and properly documented for invoicing.
7. Inventory and Procurement: Ensure installation vehicles and stores are adequately stocked. Work with the procurement team to handle faulty equipment returns and ensure equipment is processed within 3 business days.
8. Financial Management: Track and report on project profitability and progress, including creating work-in-progress reports. Identify cost increases and ensure they are covered by client agreements. Meet monthly financial targets.
9. Process Development: Establish commissioning processes and best practices to ensure consistent quality across the engineering team.
10. Client and Contractor Relations: Serve as the primary contact for client and contractor meetings, addressing queries or complaints related to installations. Travel may be required to attend site meetings and manage projects across the UK.
11. Training and Development: Ensure all team members receive the necessary training to maintain and enhance the department's capabilities. Attend workshops, participate in professional societies, and stay updated on industry standards.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Experience: Ideally, you are currently an Installation Manager in the security industry or a Senior Engineer ready to transition into management. Extensive experience in security installation project management is essential.
2. Technical Knowledge: Strong familiarity with core products including Avigilon, Hikvision, Texecom, ACT, and Paxton.
3. Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, drive productivity, and manage day-to-day operations.
4. Project Management: Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and exceeding targets.
5. Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and resolve issues quickly.
6. Health & Safety: Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements within an installation environment.
7. IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and industry-specific software.

Package
1. Salary of £45,000 DOE
2. 20 days holiday + bank holidays rising 1 day for every year of service
