Our customer is the world’s second largest nuclear engineering company and a Tier 1 supplier to the UK nuclear industry, playing a leading role at Hinkley Point C and other ready-to-go projects. About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced WIC Project Manager to lead the delivery of the Wrapping, Insulation, and Caulking scope within the prestigious Hinkley Point C project. This role will be embedded in the MEH (Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC) Programme and will involve overseeing the full lifecycle of WIC work packages, from planning and procurement to installation and final handover. The WIC Project Manager will coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including the WIC Project Engineers, to ensure that all aspects of the scope are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for WIC activities, tracking milestones and ensuring deadlines are met.
* Requirements Gathering: Identify and track through formal management of change the requirements of the WIC scope to keep the project deliverables on track.
* Resource Coordination: Secure and coordinate the necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
* Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, including the WIC Project Engineers, to ensure cohesive delivery of all WIC tasks.
* Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact project delivery, escalating significant concerns and working proactively to resolve issues.
* Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, manage costs, and ensure that expenditures align with the financial plan, providing regular updates to senior management.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to facilitate collaboration and support.
* Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all WIC activities comply with EDF Nuclear New Build (NNB) procedures, quality standards, and ONR safety regulations.
* Project Documentation: Maintain and organise comprehensive project documentation, ensuring accessibility and compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
* Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates on project status, progress against deliverables, and challenges faced, ensuring transparency and effective project management.
Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Building Services or Electrical) or formal Project Management qualification, with strong technical understanding of wrapping, insulation, and caulking systems.
* 5+ years of experience in project management, ideally within the nuclear, energy, chemical, transport (i.e. London Underground) sectors.
* Proven track record of managing complex work packages, including planning, resource management, and budget oversight.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to risk management.
* Experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Familiarity with EDF NNB procedures would be beneficial.
* Knowledge of quality standards, and safety regulations are essential.
* Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
* French Language skills would be beneficial.
