Senior Electrical Engineer Role
We are seeking a motivated and suitably qualified Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team.
* A senior member of the electrical team, focusing on technical quality of deliverables and delivery of technical documents in accordance with schedule and budget.
* Providing technical direction and inputs to electrical team personnel.
* Reviewing and approving engineering documents such as calculations, specifications, datasheets, and reports to ensure compliance with specification and functional integrity.
* Supporting preparation and reviewing drawings including general arrangements, layouts, block diagrams, single line diagrams, etc.
* Ensuring all deliverables align with company and client procedures and applicable standards; ensuring documents originate, checked, and approved by suitably competent personnel.
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and vendors.
* Leading on project technical decisions.
* Coordinating electrical activities with other engineering disciplines.
* Attending internal and external project review meetings.
* Monitoring changes in scope of work and raising change notifications with Project Managers.
* Inputting to project schedules and cost estimates.
* Identifying scope of work required to undertake a project.
* Estimating deliverables and hours required to deliver a project.
* Mentoring junior members of the electrical team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* An engineering degree or relevant industry experience.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards.
* Effective leadership skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
* The ability to interface and liaise with key client and internal stakeholders.
* Significant, demonstrable experience in detailed design engineering.
* Experience of carrying out cable sizing calculations using Amtech, Electrical, OM, or similar software.
* Strong knowledge of HV systems (up to 11/33kV).
* Experience in electrical studies including load studies, fault studies, and protection coordination using ETAP or similar software preferred.
* Familiarity with ATEX requirements.
* Earthing design experience preferred but not mandatory.
* Lighting design experience preferred but not mandatory.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards.
* Competency in the use of MS Office applications.
* Exposure to mentoring junior team members and apprentices.
