Cambridgeshire & Peterborough School-Aged Health Improvement and Prevention Service, Sexual Health Co-Ordinator
MAIN PURPOSE
The School-Aged Health Improvement and Prevention Service (SHIPS) will support the improvement in sexual health outcomes for children and young people (C&YP) across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the Local C-card scheme for 13-24 year olds across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
Education and preventative sexual health services, including targeted interventions.
Everyone Health delivers multi-component health-related and lifestyle services, including prevention and early intervention, on behalf of Clinical Commissioning Groups and Local Authorities in community-based localities across the UK.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for:
* Management of the Condom Distribution Service by coordinating a condom distribution scheme (C-Card) across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, aimed at increasing access to free condoms to promote consistent condom use.
* Encouraging sites/providers to register for the scheme and to train and support them to supply condoms to those registered with the C-Card scheme.
* Managing the procurement, registration to the scheme and provision of supplies to all sites & remotely, ensuring clear understanding of the number of condoms given out at each site.
* Promotion of the scheme through a variety of media activities.
* Coordinating training for free condom providers.
* Working closely with providers to support the distribution of condoms (e.g., youth workers, schools, colleges).
* Increasing accessibility of routine (asymptomatic) chlamydia and gonorrhoea screening and signposting to treatment for C&YP aged 13-24 years.
* Working with labs to process testing kits and ensure accurate and sensitive confirmation of test results.
* Establishing clear pathways with other sexual health providers to reduce overlap within the system.
* Coordinating and participating in national sexual health and HIV campaigns in collaboration with other partners.
* Establishing relationships with local stakeholders (predominantly schools and education settings) to identify thematic trends and fill gaps in education group-sessions.
* Delivering sexual and reproductive health sessions in schools, colleges, and youth settings.
* Coordinating campaigns that promote national and local sexual health campaigns.
* Coordinating sexual health outreach services for young people from high-risk groups.
* Facilitating collaborative approaches with other services working in school settings.
* Engaging with all types of education settings staff, students, governors, parents/carers, and their wider communities.
* Traveling to schools within Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
* Using clinical systems to manage data for accurate record keeping.
* Line managing a team of professionals.
* Building strong links with local schools.
* Being accountable for the monitoring and achievement of service key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Utilizing a range of communication and presentation methods.
* Being compliant with all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
* Taking responsibility for own CPD and participating in Everyone Health's induction, training, and continual professional development.

* Attending community events to promote the service.

* Working with the Everyone Health data team to report on trends in referrals.
* Leading on promoting resources available on the Healthy Schools website.
* Providing administrative and project management support for the team.
* Working with families/carers and wider School communities to strengthen interventions.
* Supporting the development of a comprehensive directory of up-to-date evidence-based information for school settings.

Qualifications
* 2 years experience working within local school, health care, or community settings.
* Degree in health-related subject.

£28,000 to £35,000 a year dependent on experience.
