If so we have an excellent opportunity for a relief cook to join our state of the art centre at William Quarriers Epilepsy Centre.
Your new organisation
The William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre is a state of the art facility with world-class diagnostic technology which takes epilepsy services in the UK to a whole new level.
The modern, 12 bed in-patient facility provides flexible, patient-centred residential assessment for adults aged 16 years and over. Catering staff are important members of the team who help to provide a range of duties across the Centre in a professional manner whilst being aware of clinical patient services which are being provided.
The Cook's role is to provide nutritious meals for patients and staff on shift at the Centre, adhering to individual dietary needs, NHS Food and Nutrition Standards and healthy eating principles at all times.
This role will require someone who is confident in their ability to work within their own kitchen environment, you will have responsibility of the menu and food orders. This role requires you to order your own food deliveries, so it is important you know how to budget.
This is a relief role hours will be dependent on service needs. Usual shift hours are 10am to 6pm. Covering week days and weekends.
What you will need to bring to the role

4. Confident cooking skills, using fresh ingredients to cook patient & staff on shift lunches and dinners, primarily from scratch
5. Food Hygiene experience is required, with a willingness to undertake Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate Training.
6. Health and Safety and infection control knowledge
7. Awareness of Environmental Health Standards
8. Good communication skills to interact with patients and staff in a professional manner, including effective listening skills
9. Menu planning experience including reviewing menus for seasonality and working within a set budget
10. Understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities
11. A commitment to continuous learning and self-development
12. To be supportive of the staff team through meaningful participation in staff meetings
13. Experience of dealing with a diverse range of individuals and groups
14. Understanding of confidentiality and sensitivity practices in working with vulnerable groups
