Registered Manager – Supported Living & Domiciliary Care
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Manager to oversee the operations of our supported living and domiciliary care services. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of general adult care, learning disabilities, and complex needs support.
A key priority of this role is successfully passing the CQC Registered Manager interview and ensuring full compliance with UK regulations. The successful candidate will represent Aegis Haven in CQC registration, demonstrating thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, safeguarding, and governance.
We welcome applicants who already hold an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Health & Social Care or are willing to complete it within 12 months.
Key Responsibilities
1. CQC Registration & Regulatory Compliance
Attend and pass the CQC Registered Manager interview, demonstrating regulatory knowledge, governance, and leadership skills.
Register with CQC as the company’s Registered Manager, ensuring continuous compliance with CQC KLOEs, the Health & Social Care Act 2008, and the Care Act 2014.
Ensure all care services meet or exceed CQC quality standards, working towards a Good or Outstanding rating.
Implement effective policies, procedures, and audits to ensure compliance with safeguarding, duty of candour, and person-centred care requirements.
2. Leadership & Service Management
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the supported living and domiciliary care services.
Supervise and support care teams, ensuring staff training, professional development, and adherence to best practices.
Foster a positive and empowering environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence for all service users.
Ensure effective rota management to maintain safe staffing levels while balancing cost-efficiency and service quality.
3. Service User-Centred Care & Support
Develop, implement, and regularly review individual care plans tailored to the needs of each service user.
Conduct regular risk assessments and care plan evaluations, adjusting support as needed.
Engage with families, advocates, and multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring holistic, person-centred care planning.
Promote a safeguarding-first culture, ensuring compliance with MCA, DoLS, and best practice safeguarding protocols.
4. Medication Administration & Health Support
Oversee medication administration protocols, ensuring compliance with NICE guidelines and CQC medication standards.
Ensure safe storage, recording, and administration of medication, with robust monitoring processes.
Train and support staff in medication management, risk reduction, and infection control procedures.
5. Records Management & Documentation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on care provision, incidents, service user progress, and staff performance.
Ensure compliance with CQC documentation and audit requirements for inspections and internal governance.
Monitor and implement quality assurance measures, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Maintain clear and effective communication with families, local authorities, commissioning bodies, and healthcare professionals.
Represent Aegis Haven at contract meetings, commissioner reviews, and CQC inspections.
Respond professionally and effectively to complaints, concerns, and feedback, ensuring service user satisfaction.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Health & Social Care (or willingness to complete within 12 months).
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and risk management.
Experience leading and managing care teams within a supported living or domiciliary care setting.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle challenges in a care environment proactively.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise with service users, families, staff, and external agencies.
Competence in medication administration protocols and best practices.
