A client within the Public Sector based in Cambridgeshire is currently recruiting for a Head of Highways Maintenance and Management to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having extensive experience in highways maintenance and management within a local authority environment.
The Role
The Head of Highways Maintenance and Management will provide leadership for all highways maintenance services, including carriageways, footways, drainage, and structures.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Leading the development and delivery of strategic objectives for highways maintenance services.
Managing resources and ensuring services are delivered effectively and within budget.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve services and promote economic development.
Overseeing risk management processes and ensuring services comply with legal and regulatory standards.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
A degree or extensive experience in civil engineering, project management, or a related field.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, CIHT).
Strong knowledge of highways maintenance policies, legislation, and regulations.Beneficial skills include:
Experience in managing budgets and financial resources.
Expertise in procurement and contract management.
Experience of leading change initiatives and embedding a positive culture within teams.
Remuneration
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and is offering a competitive salary of £500 p/d Umbrella Ltd. Inside IR35. (approx. £400 p/d PAYE)
