As Finance Analyst, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the South West. This post supports ICBs in their delegated commissioning duties.
The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.
• Support production of management accounts for portfolio of service areas
• Support teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
• Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management.
• Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysisacross a range of specialties, functions and projects.
• Be a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
• Support the delivery of effective primary medical care in the Region.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
• To provide finance support in the monitoring of expenditure primary care providers.
• To monitor and report the financial performance across several service areas, including optometry and pharmacy.
• To report the financial position, forecast and risks for the providers under the responsibility of the post holder and within the remit of the post.
• To support the development, implementation and reporting of Improving Value schemes and programmes using benchmarking information and agreeing how these will be delivered.
• Costing proposed service changes
• Ensure any reporting requirements on direct commissioning are provided on a timely basis and to an appropriate standard.
• Support completion of national returns as required.
• The postholder will be responsible for providing financial advice and support to functional teams to enable them to discharge their respective responsibilities. In doing so the postholder will be expected to maintain sound financial records and manage and input into corporate financial systems
• The postholder will be required to be flexible in their approach to supporting the finance team across all areas of direct commissioning if required.
