Veritas Education work across the Bradford area supporting primary and SEN settings with Teaching Assistants and support staff on daily basis as well as longer term roles. We are currently needing multiple staff who are comfortable working on a 1:1 basis with primary aged children with special educational needs.
We have several full-time roles, supporting children with various needs, such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs across EYFS to KS2.
As a 1:1 SEN teaching assistant, you must show a talent for dealing with challenging behaviour, demonstrate a level of resilience whilst at work, be able to support the learning of the child and can build meaningful relationships with both young learners and staff.
Throughout this role you will need to be able to demonstrate effective behaviour management techniques, build rapport and trust with young SEN learners to de-escalate incidents and promote learner growth, and create a safe educational environment.
These positions require you to be experienced in supporting pupils with various needs, depending on the role and your experiences, you could be working alongside learners who demonstrate high risk and challenging behaviour, or providing nurture-based support for children with learning and complex needs.
