Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality, which is second to none and industry-leading standards. They are looking for an experienced HSE Manager to build upon all things H and S related and maintain the site environmental policies.
Role And Responsibilities
* Responsible for the management of the Health, Safety and Environmental systems across the manufacturing site, whilst promoting group level processes and procedures.
* Working closely with other leadership departmental managers to drive and lead HSE strategies.
* Create a site safety deployment plan and carry out safety inspections and audits.
* Conduct risk assessments, SSoW, assess safe machinery operations and practices.
* Control and monitor hazardous substances, work equipment and manual handling operations, PPE.
* Manage the ISO14001 Environmental Management System.
* Report on accident, incident and near miss statistics.
* Ensure the site is compliant and up-to-date with all governing H and S policies and procedures.
* Provide health and safety training and toolbox talks.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
* Must have worked in a manufacturing industry.
* At least 5 years+ in a similar HSE managerial position.
* Strong influencing and communication skills.
* Able to create new H and S procedures and policies.
* Be a proactive and approachable individual.
* Experienced in managing an ISO14001 Environmental Management System.
* Must have a NEBOSH General Certificate (Minimum Qualification).
* Experienced in safety and legal compliance for manufacturing.
* Able to create risk assessments and SSoW.
* Qualified auditor is desirable.
* Experience of BRC and ISO Standards.
* Able to train and coach people.
* IOSH Health and Safety.
