We are looking for a Workshop & Site Team Leader/Supervisor to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Service Centre and site activities. Responsible for the daily running of the workshop and supporting any site related jobs either on site or remotely. To support and deliver the needs of production and customer requirements in a cost effective and safe manner.
This role includes a mix of shop-floor, site and office based activities with relevant travel as required.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
* To ensure the safety and well-being of the department team ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to at all times.
* Responsible for allocation and coordination of resource within the workshop and support in assigning field service engineers. Matching required skillsets to the job in hand.
* Responsible for overall supervision of site activities/employees where necessary, including being a first point of contact for engineers in the field.
* Coordinate workshop activities with field activities. Extracting the relevant information needed from the equipment, carrying out materials reviews and job preparedness checks whilst in the workshop, including allowing the assigned engineer the required time to familiarise themselves with the equipment.
* Coordinate and work effectively with administration roles including contracts/purchasing to achieve common goals.
* Actively attend site to carry out site visits/surveys when deemed required based on the work/project, including to assist sales.
* Adapt to and actively support high levels of demand within the workshop and site, including allocating yourself as a resource as and when required, recovering hours.
* Create inspection reports for dismantled equipment.
* Perform final inspection of all equipment prior to despatch.
* Responsible for all workshop machinery checks and associated company safety checks.
* Review & approve all site reports. Liaise directly with end users on open orders, including updates, progress, queries.
* Continuous monitoring of utilisation levels across workshop and field activities, ensuring all available hours are maximised where possible.
* Undertake annual appraisals and individual development planning, inclusive of training requirements of direct personnel, whilst actively engaging all personnel.
* Maintain high level of good housekeeping.
* Actively contribute to and support the Operations Management Team.
* Ensure quality of service and compliance in legislation and standards through effective technical risk management including Health & Safety, monitoring and meeting all set KPI’s.
* Actively support the Strategic Plan of the division.
* Responsible for NCR recording, investigation and resolution including preventative action.
* Identify and implement improvement projects, develop the service and the team capabilities.
Experience & Qualifications:
* HNC and relevant engineering apprenticeship and/or work-based experience.
* Highly numerate with competent IT skills.
* Extensive knowledge and practical experience of pump fundamentals and service methods.
* Extensive knowledge of site work, installation/removal techniques, site commissioning, fault finding and site projects.
* Knowledge of pump design and assembly techniques and providing technical guidance to personnel.
* Training and experience in managing teams and individuals.
