Salary: £18.89 per hour
Job Purpose: To maintain vehicles to the standard required by Stagecoach and DVSA so as to achieve maximum vehicle availability. This will include inspection, maintenance, and repair of Stagecoach buses. Responsible for working in a safe manner as stated in current legislation and Stagecoach policies and procedures. Your role will have responsibility for the routine inspection and maintenance of company vehicles including diagnosis and rectification of faults whilst maintaining the existing high standards. Principal Accountabilities:
1. Responsible for routine inspection/maintenance of company vehicles in accordance with established company procedure including DVSA requirements.
2. To undertake repetitive mechanical, electrical and some minor body repair. To road test on completion of repair.
3. To work in accordance with safe working practices as stated in SCM’s Health and Safety policy and procedures.
4. To keep abreast of environmental and technical developments. Any other reasonable duties as directed by senior management that lies within the scope of the jobholder’s responsibilities.
5. To ensure that the needs of the Operating Department are met and that enough vehicles are available to meet PVR.
6. To ensure that all vehicles provided for operation comply with the standards set by the Company, and the DVSA.
7. To ensure that all appropriate documentation and records are maintained accurately to satisfy the requirements of the Department of Transport Operators licence and Stagecoach policies and procedures.
Person Requirements – Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:
1. Ability to plan and prioritise.
2. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Able to make decisions independently.
4. Good organisation and time management skills.
5. Ability to gain a PCV licence.
6. Ability to gain a NVQ level 2.
