About the Role Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 child with ADHD and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Based in a nurturing primary school in Selly Oak (B29), this long-term role offers the potential to become permanent. You'll help the child develop their confidence, manage their emotions, and fully engage with their learning. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with ADHD and SEMH needs. Work with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets and support plans. Use behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation. Implement approaches like Zones of Regulation, emotion coaching, and sensory strategies. Encourage engagement through structured and creative activities.Candidate Requirements Experience supporting children with ADHD and SEMH needs. Knowledge of EHCPs and individual support plans. Familiarity with Zones of Regulation, emotion coaching, and de-escalation techniques (desirable). Strong behaviour management skills and a patient approach.
