The Role
We are seeking a driven, forward-thinking Digital Agronomist to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and on-farm operations. In this position, you’ll serve as the critical link between our internal R&D team and the farmers who rely on our platform. Your insights and expertise will directly influence our product roadmap and feature development, ensuring that our software solutions align with the real-world needs of growers.
Work Arrangements and Start Date
* Immediate start preferred, with a target start date by February 2025.
* Remote work options available upon successful completion of probation; flexible hybrid model thereafter.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as the “voice of the farmer” within FruitCast, translating on-farm insights into actionable guidance for our technical and product teams.
* Collaborate closely with growers to understand their challenges and opportunities, relaying feedback that shapes product updates and new feature launches.
* Provide on-site support to address and resolve any technical or operational issues that may arise with the FruitCast platform, ensuring a seamless user experience.
* Regularly communicate with the internal team, offering agronomic expertise to inform data-driven decision-making and platform enhancements.
* Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, ensuring our solutions remain at the cutting edge of digital agronomy.
Skills
Essential
* Driving & Work Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
* Communication Skills: Outgoing, personable, and able to translate technical concepts into practical, farm-friendly advice.
* Technical Aptitude: Comfortable working with web-based applications, office software, and farm management tools.
* On-Farm Experience: Prior experience working with UK soft fruit crops, particularly strawberries, grown in glasshouses or under polytunnels.
* Yield Forecasting Experience: Direct involvement in predicting or managing crop yields on commercial operations.
* Operations Insight: Hands-on experience managing or supporting day-to-day operations on a farm or similar agricultural setting.
Nice to Have
* Additional Crop Expertise: Familiarity with other horticultural crops and their respective growing conditions.
* Advanced Agronomic Knowledge: Formal training or qualifications in agronomy, plant physiology, or horticulture.
* Digital Ag Experience: Prior experience implementing or using digital farm management platforms, precision agriculture tools, or AI-driven forecasting technologies.
* Networking Ability: An established network of industry contacts, including growers, suppliers, and agronomy professionals.
