The post holder will: Deliver a patient centred style of practice that reflects and promotes the beliefs and values of professional nursing practice within the Emergency Department Independently assess, deliver and evaluate care to a defined caseload of patients Assume coordinating responsibility for individual clinical areas, proactively resolving problems identified within the individual clinical area Set and maintain standards of practice, conduct or decision making in conjunction with Sister / Charge Nurse / Matron / Senior Nursing Team Accurately document and report to other members of the nursing and multidisciplinary team information regarding the care given to patients, communicating changes as they occur Supervise, mentor, support and educate pre-registration nurses, undergraduate nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team in the clinical practice setting Liaise with other health care professionals with on-going responsibility for patient care Adhere to the code: Standards of conduct, performance and ethics for nurses and midwives (NMC 2008) Demonstrate a commitment to research based practice and clinical excellence. Play an active part in the introduction of research-based change to improve patient centred care Demonstrate awareness and understanding of accountability, responsibility and duty of care. Support and educate junior staff of the implications for practice
