The Opportunity
Barnsley College is seeking an ALS Student Support Worker to create a significant impact in our learners' lives. In this professional environment, you will support students with additional needs, including those with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
This is a hands-on and rewarding opportunity for a Student Support Worker to assist our students with their daily experiences at Barnsley College. You will provide personal and curriculum support tailored to the individual needs of our apprentices and learners, attending classes to facilitate their learning and guide them through necessary processes. Working with a diverse range of learners, you will engage both one-on-one and in small groups, ensuring all students have access to a fully inclusive environment and the resources needed to achieve their potential.
As an ALS Student Support Worker, you will play a key role in the team, assisting in the planning, preparation, and assessment of learning while providing regular feedback to Trainers and Managers.

About You
We are looking for someone with the personal skills and experience to effectively support learners, manage challenging behaviour when it arises, and help students develop their own coping strategies to succeed in their aspirations. Given the nature of the role, strong literacy skills and the ability to meet deadlines for necessary paperwork are essential.
