Job summary
Clinical Theatre Manager, Weston Theatres (Band 7).
Weston Theatres are looking for a RN/ODP who would like an opportunity to lead and support a developing team within Weston General Hospital. This will involve working closely with the Theatre Matron and other unit theatre leads. The ability to combine your clinical expertise with managerial responsibilities is essential; experience of practicing within an operating theatre will be advantageous. You will hold relevant qualifications and have sufficient experience to provide strong, knowledgeable leadership.
Weston Theatres consists of 6 operating theatres with a range of specialities including: Day surgeries, Upper GI, Lower GI, Orthopaedics, a designated CEPOD list and more.
You will require a high level of organisational skill and have a resourceful and professional approach to work. You should be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills and have the ability to forge and maintain positive relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff.
The working hours are full time (37.5) - Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
The lead practitioner is accountable and responsible for the twenty four hour care delivery and management of the department. The lead practitioner will promote and monitor safe and effective practice, enhance the patient experience, provide effective leadership and management and contribute to the delivery of the Trust/Divisional objectives.
The Lead practitioner will:
1. Be supervisory to practice as required.
2. Be responsible for professional day to day clinical leadership and operational management of the department.
3. Ensure delivery of high quality, responsive, safe, efficient and compassionate care.
4. Support the Matron in developing the service.
5. Act as a leader and role model, adopting a flexible approach in a role which encompasses leadership, management and clinical responsibilities.
6. Demonstrate pride in their work and enthusiasm for quality of care.
