Location: Various locations across all fields of nursing practice
Salary/Banding: Band 2 during course of study
Hours: Full and part-time available
Has your NMC Registration lapsed? Do you wish to return to nursing after a career break?
In partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), NHS Fife are offering Return to Practice opportunities for Adult, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Nurses whose registration has lapsed by providing a fully funded Masters level university theory/practice programme. The theoretical component and associated practice placement will prepare nurses previously on the NMC register to return to practice in a safe and confident manner.
The programme will update students on the knowledge and skills required of a registered nurse. The theory programme will be delivered using a flexible approach incorporating online classrooms. Return to Practice students will normally undertake between 300-450 hours of practice learning depending on individual circumstances. A practice placement will be arranged in an area relevant to your field of nursing practice and this can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis.
On successful completion of the course, employment in a band 5 role with Fife is guaranteed where there is a vacancy.
The programme will commence the week beginning 27th January 2025.
GCU and NHS Fife will hold joint interviews in December 2024. A virtual pre-recruitment event to offer potential candidates information about the programme is being held on Wednesday 13th November 2024 from 6pm to 8pm. For further information, please contact: returntopractice@gcu.ac.uk.
For informal enquiries please contact Kirstine Cassidy by e-mail at returntopractice@gcu.ac.uk or Mairi McKinley at mairi.mckinley@nhs.scot.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
