Position Description:
The Cui Lab for Systems Immunology research at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Harvard Medical School has openings for one or more computational postdoctoral researchers. The postdoc is responsible for driving forward computational biology projects based on the data generated from the lab under the guidance of the PI. Example work includes analyzing high-throughput genomic and/or clinical data from various immune-mediated conditions, such as oral and systemic inflammation, tumor immunity, host-pathogen interactions, and mouse models of diseases. The postdoc will collaborate with both computational and experimental researchers in the lab, and will prepare figures and draft manuscripts based on the analyses. They are expected to carefully document their work and regularly provide progress updates to the PI. The laboratory is located in the heart of the Longwood Academic and Medical Area in Boston, MA.
This position is a one-year term appointment from date of hire with the possibility of extension.
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
- Masters Degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, computer science, or a related quantitative field may be considered for a Research Associate position.
- 2+ years of research experience in bioinformatics.
- 1 or more first-author publications in bioinformatics.
- Proficient with the UNIX/Linux environment.
- Skilled in data analysis with R or Python.
- Experience with code repository tools including GitHub.
- Experience with single-cell multi-omic or microbiome analysis is a plus.
- Knowledge of immunology is a plus.
