Job overview
You will work as part of the clinician Rota ensuring the safe assessment, management, referral and discharge of patients across The Urgent Treatment Centre. You should possess a Masters level qualification in advanced clinical practice, be an independent prescriber and have previous experience in managing patients independently as an ACP in an Urgent Treatment Centre.
The post holder will deliver an 80% clinical component to their role and 20% related to the other pillars of advanced practice: education, research, and leadership/management. You will be provided with mentorship from both a Consultant in Advanced Practice and will be supported to become credentialed via HEE ACP curriculum if you have not been credentialed via your University previously where you studied your MSc.
You will be working in a busy and dynamic specialty which sees patients with a wide range of presentations, serving a large and diverse population.
Main duties of the job
Working in the Urgent Treatment Centre, the post holder will exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion, and decision making in clinical care demonstrated through the Trust advanced competency framework, while maintaining a professional portfolio.
The post holder will provide advanced clinical skills and advice demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of the client group. They will deal with complex facts and situations that may require an advanced level of analysis and interpretation while comparing all the options.
The post holder will monitor and lead improvements to standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence-based practice, teaching, and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership.
The post holder will lead the implementation of relevant research into practice contributing to the further development of the evidence base through research and audit.
The post holder will contribute to clinical governance within the service by leading audit and research as part of the MDT within the area of expertise. This role requires the ability to interpret and manage highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information and will be responsible for reviewing, designing, and implementing policies and guidance to ensure effective service provision/development.
