Financial Controller
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Financial Controller. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and supporting senior management in making informed financial decisions. This role is ideal for a strategic, detail-oriented individual with strong financial management skills and a proactive approach to managing day-to-day financial activities. You will also be managing a small finance team.

Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
* Financial Reporting: Prepare and manage timely, accurate financial statements
* Management of Accounts: Oversee the preparation of management accounts and other financial reports, providing insightful analysis to aid decision-making
* Budgets & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring the alignment of financial goals with business objectives
* Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to maintain the financial health of the business
* Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations
* Taxation & Compliance: Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with all UK tax laws and reporting requirements
* Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to senior leadership, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small finance team, ensuring they are well-supported, developed, and aligned with company goals
* Audit Management: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure smooth year-end audits and reviews
* Ad-Hoc Projects: Support senior management with ad-hoc financial projects and system improvements
Qualifications & Skills for the Financial Controller:
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience in a Financial Controller role or similar senior finance position
* Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel (advanced level)
* Experience in managing budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting
* Excellent understanding of tax regulations, including VAT, corporation tax, and PAYE
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable insights
* Leadership and team management experience
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Desirable skills for the Financial Controller:
* Experience with financial systems implementation or upgrades
* Knowledge of payroll and pension schemes
* Experience in a fast-paced or growing business environment
