About the role: Science Lab Technician Activate Learning have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Science Laboratory Technician to join our well-established team at Farnham college. You will be responsible for providing technical support for the Science Laboratory facilities (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) which will include, ensuring the teachers and our learners fully equipped in preparation for their lessons, and making sure the environment is clean, safe and well stocked in-line with Health and Safety requirements. In addition, you will be required to support the teacher in the delivery of all teaching programmes and be present during the lessons to offer additional support to learners if required. This is a part time role, working 14.8 hours per week, term time only (FTE 0.34). What do you need to be successful as a Science Lab Technician at Activate Learning? Successful candidates will have level 4 qualification in one of the following science subjects, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics, and experience of laboratory work.You will have experience in writing risk assessments and COSHH assessments, along with good attention to detail, strong communication skills, and be IT literate. Ideally, you will also have experience working in an education environment, specifically in a school or college laboratory. In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
