Job Overview
We have a great opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist interested in expanding their clinical skills and experience working within West Essex Community Mental Health provision for adults.
You will be working as part of a small, friendly, and skillful Occupational Therapy team to provide focused Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to clients through 1:1 and group work.
The OT team sits within the wider multi-disciplinary team providing holistic support for clients with complex and enduring mental health needs requiring secondary care level mental health support.
Main Duties of the Job
Working within this busy team environment provides the opportunity to develop a wide range of clinical skills, undertaking OT assessments, delivering interventions, and facilitating groups and individual sessions.
The post holder will have access to professional supervision and leadership within the team and across the Trust, and support in accessing relevant development opportunities.
Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Registered with HCPC
* Completion of Preceptorship period and evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
* Evidence of post qualification study
Additional Qualities
* Car driver – ability to travel across sites and boundaries to attend meetings etc.
Skills/Experience
* Experience as a qualified occupational therapist in mental health
* Experience in working closely and developing relationships with medical, nursing, social care, and clinical staff
* Ability to produce clear, coherent, and accurate clinical reports including the ability to complete required electronic data systems for a variety of audiences
* Experience of providing professional support/supervision and motivation of staff
