We are working with a specialist contractor on a major new development near Andover. The company is a privately owned, profitable business that works solely across the South of England and believes in delivering quality, defect-free schemes to clients.
They specialise in both new build and refurbishment of listed schemes and major re-modelling, extension, and new builds in the high-end, hi-spec one-off residential market, working for high net worth clients on schemes up to 120 million.
Initially, your skills and experience will be utilized on a major private development near Andover that includes the refurbishment and fit-out of an existing Grade 1 manor house, as well as major extensions and several new build schemes. You will be joining the delivery and commercial team to help them achieve completion and handover in 18 months' time.
The wider role includes early involvement at the tender and bid stage, working with the estimating, design, and commercial teams to establish specifications, phasing, and strategy, and then forming the initial construction programme. You will work to update and amend both the overall programme and individual programmes for each package of works on site until the final bid/tender is submitted. You will then be responsible for managing the programme through to the start on site, regularly visiting the site, updating both short and long-term programmes, identifying opportunities to save time, and looking ahead to identify clashes and other issues. You will work with the design team and supply chain to ensure work packages are released on time, and all bespoke items and packages are let in good time, monitoring progress to ensure key dates are met. You will continue to work with the commercial and design teams to evolve and adapt future bids and programmes for best practice.
You will ideally have worked for a regional contractor on schemes above 3 million and have experience of both D&B projects and framework negotiations. You must be able to demonstrate excellent work practices, attention to detail, organisational skills, as well as the ability to identify opportunities and potential issues. Proficiency in software such as Asta, 4Projects, and experience of working with BIM and BREEAM is required.
