We are recruiting for a Freelance Site Manager to oversee Local Authority Housing Stock Projects, with a focus on External Wall Insulation and other external works. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team working on critical housing improvement projects that make a real difference to communities. Project Overview: Our client is delivering large-scale refurbishment and improvement works on occupied local authority housing, with a strong focus on External Wall Insulation. The project aims to enhance energy efficiency, reduce fuel costs for tenants, and improve the overall condition of social housing stock. The work involves coordinating various external trades and ensuring a seamless delivery with minimal disruption to residents. Key Responsibilities: Managing External Wall Insulation and other external works on Local Authority Housing Stock. Ensuring smooth project delivery, including planning, tracking, programming, and organisation of trades. Client liaison to maintain strong communication and effective problem-solving. Working on live-in projects, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and maintaining a strong community focus. Managing site teams and ensuring high standards of health & safety, compliance, and quality control. Identifying and resolving on-site challenges related to planning, tracking, and programme execution. What We’re Looking For: Strong man-management skills – able to lead and coordinate multiple trades effectively. Excellent IT skills to assist with programme tracking, reporting, and communication with stakeholders. Experience with Local Authority projects, particularly in external refurbishment and insulation works. A proactive approach to problem-solving, planning, and site logistics. Qualifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – Essential CSCS (Management) or NVQ in Site Management – Essential Why Join? Competitive day rates – determined by experience.
