Job Title: Infotainment Design Engineer (966)

Pay: £27.94 per hour
We are seeking an Infotainment Design Engineer to join a globally recognised automotive company in Cranfield. This long-term contract role offers the potential for several years of work.
This is a Research & Development, Connected Car Engineering - Infotainment Design role. Youll be a valued member of the team from day one, gaining hands-on experience and working alongside industry experts.
Key Responsibilities:
• You will work with features such as Navigation, DAB Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Google automotive services and the infotainment hosted features such as Camera, Interior illumination and Vehicle Climate control systems.
• Implementation of Nissan Infotainment systems for vehicles manufactured in Europe.
• Develop and coordinate specification and vehicle specific requirements with Nissan’s global teams in Japan and North America.
• Developing design concepts for new or modified features on the infotainment systems.
• Preparation of functional/software specifications through discussion with stake holders.
• Issuing functional specifications to global suppliers.
• Checking supplier data submissions meet our requirements. Formally approving the drawings.
• Regular meetings with suppliers to check part development progress and cover topics that can range from cost to concern resolution.
• Joining cost hearings to explain part cost versus budget to Senior Management.
• Meeting with Nissan test teams to agree test plans.
• Collaboration with customer orientated engineering teams to ensure global products match European customer requirements.
• Bill of material maintenance.
• Cost reduction idea generation and progression.
• Market quality investigations and countermeasure development.
Qualifications & Experience:
• You must hold the following qualification(s): Postgraduate Degree
• Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or relevant equivalent subject
• Sufficient evidence of your right to work in the UK will be required.
• An interest in vehicle electronics
• Curiosity and passion for customer facing technologies
• Readiness to work in a multinational team
• Someone willing to apply their current skills and learn new ones
• Confidence when presenting
• Good planning, organising and time management skills.
• Previous experience of automotive electronics/software development or validation
• Previous experience of network analysis tools (CANalyzer, CANoe etc) is desirable but not essential.
• Tier 1 Supplier management & Technical Project management experience
39 hours per week - Remote Working Policy (maximum 2 days per week WFH)
Standard Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1:20pm
