Position: Full-Time KS2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Preston
Salary: £12.90 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:30pm
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide general classroom support across Years 3, 4, 5, and 6. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the learning experience of our older primary school students, supporting them as they progress through key stage 2. As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities across a range of subjects for Years 3 to 6.
* Providing tailored support to individuals or small groups of children, helping them to develop their academic skills and achieve their potential.
* Assisting with classroom management, maintaining a focused and productive learning environment.
* Helping students with tasks such as reading, writing, maths, and other curriculum areas.
* Encouraging positive behaviour and fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.
* Assisting with the preparation and organisation of teaching materials and resources.
* Supporting the teacher in assessing and recording students’ progress, and providing feedback when necessary.
* Supervising children during lunch and break times.
* Offering support with students’ emotional and social development, promoting positive relationships and inclusivity.
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children, particularly in a school setting, is preferred.
* A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude towards supporting students’ individual needs.
* A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
