Detailed job description and main responsibilities Managerial 1. Be responsible for the management and prioritisation of clinical administration generated within own workload. 2. Respond to changing situations and prioritise work accordingly within own workload. 3. Maintain health records within own workload as per Mersey Care Record Keeping Policy. Leadership 4. Mentor new team members and support students and other staff (at equivalent or lower band). 5. Attend team meetings and other meetings as delegated by the team leader. 6. Submit reports / audits / data collection and returns as required. 7. Keep contemporaneous records. 8. Ensure communication flow as per communication strategy. Clinical 9. Following appropriate training and assessment participate in the vaccination of children receiving the Nasal Flu immunisation under the guidance of the immunisation nurse. 10. Input clinical data into the clinical systems interpreting and identifying patterns in vaccine uptake to inform the V&I coordinator for future planning. 11. Receive and report accurately and in a timely manner, clinical enquiries from families, schools and other agencies. 12. Provide meaningful feedback to GP's and other stakeholders about vaccine uptake amongst specific population groups. 13. Support in the delivery of sessions at schools and other community settings. 14. Participate as part of the team in Immunisation related Public Health work/ health promotion activities in schools and other settings. Non-Clinical 15. Maintain all immunisation records within workload as per Mersey Care Record Keeping Policy. 16. Co-ordinate all relevant documentation in respect of school-based immunisation programmes including consent forms and re-call letter to absentees. 17. Attend and provide effective support at immunisation sessions in schools, ensuring each child has a correct consent form and as directed by the Lead clinician. 18. Upload appropriate data onto systems as required. 19. Be responsible for the ordering of equipment and resources and arrange for the repair and maintenance of any equipment for the Immunisation team. 20. Be responsible for the care and safe keeping of equipment issued for personal and team use and to report any defect or loss. Training & Education 21. Attend staff meetings and Continuous Professional Development Reviews (PDR). 22. Access appropriate training as identified within PDR. 23. Following appropriate training, have an awareness of Mersey Care Child Protection Policy and work within guidelines. 24. Attend all mandatory training as per Mersey Care requirement. Clinical Governance/Research and Audit 25. Ensure quality standards as per Mersey Care Record Keeping Policy in respect of record management and storage within own workload. 26. Adhere to Mersey Care policies and procedures maintaining strict confidentiality. 27. Contribute to the development and review of new administrative/IT systems within Mersey Care. 28. Participate in recording and processing of immunisation statistics, e.g., Universal Childhood. 29. Flu/Health Care Worker Flu Immunisation, to facilitate audit and evaluation. 30. Contribute to the collection and maintenance of evidence for Care Quality Commission (CQC) outcomes. Communication 31. Work as part of a skill - mix team actively promoting vaccination uptake. 32. Communicate with school staff and children to obtain up to date demographic details in respect of children and young people within own workload. 33. Report any incidents of verbal, physical or threat of physical abuse to line manager. 34. Be an advocate to children, young persons and adults encouraging them to make an informed choice about immunisation. 35. Effectively liaise and communicate with other agencies involved with the client groups and their carers with reference to immunisation. During times of increased service pressure flexible working hours including early morning planned sessions and occasional early evening and weekend work may be required Able to carry equipment from clinic base to schools.
