Tyn Y Wern and Woodland Lodge are located in a beautiful semi-rural location on the outskirts of the village of Ynysybwl, which enjoys a very friendly, close-knit community. Tyn Y Wern is a large detached home that has 4-bedrooms, located within the grounds is our beautiful bungalow Woodland lodge which is a single service.

This is an opportunity for a pro-active Team Leader to join an evolving care company. You will need to have previous experience of working within a care role and experience of leading a team. Ideally you will have or be working towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
The Role
The Team Leader will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower their team in supporting the people they support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
You will be proactive and support the development and skills of Support Workers. This will include recruitment, induction, supervisions, annual appraisals, training, coaching, rota management, sickness and absence management.
Take the lead to help Support Workers understand their responsibilities and by doing so ensure that safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led support and care is delivered at all times. You will complete evidence-based supervisions and observation supervisions as well as supporting your team of support workers to complete competency-based appraisals.
To oversee and support the development of excellent quality within the service. You will design, develop and maintain excellent service user records, working in a supportive manner that empowers the service user to live their life in their chosen manner.
We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible Team Leader to support this very busy service. We are actively engaging 5 individuals with complex needs to participate in a range of physical and educational activities accessing local communities and our busy HUB. As we are required to drive both fleet cars and mobility vehicles, a full UK drivers’ licence would be preferable. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is essential; you will need a good sense of humour and be an effective role model and team player to become one of the leaders of this established staff team.
This is a busy service, and staff need to be physically fit to meet the demands of the role. The job is varied and requires an element of IT skills to enable you to support both the deputy and manager of the service. The service has a range of shift patterns to meet the needs of individuals we support including long days; we operate with both sleep-in and wake staff and promote a positive behaviour support model.
