• Work with the Director of Netball to drive forward the Netball programme for girls at the College;
• In collaboration with the Director of Netball, take the lead on creating a first-class programme of girls’ netball, including assisting with the organisation of the offseason programme and the organisation of coaching and fixtures programme;
• Implement an all-inclusive netball coaching structure, including pre-season and the summer term;
• Ensure all sessions are in line with safeguarding protocols and high standards of health and safety;
• Play a key role in the coaching of netball across all of our current teams;
• Work with the Director of Netball to ensure coaching resources are available for each team and are efficiently deployed and that coaching programmes are developed and in place for the coaching of each team;
• Contribute and build on Epsom’s current netball outreach programme, building relationships with local clubs and state and prep schools and help in the planning, organisation and running of events;
• Liaise with the Director of Netball to identify staff training needs and organise and deliver a programme of staff development;
• Work with the Director of Netball to help develop an appropriate fixture list which gives challenging and realistic competition to all teams;
• Identify new competitive opportunities that will help to develop and enhance the reputation of Epsom as a netball school;
• Assist the Director of Sport and the Director of Netball with the identification of potential talented athletes for 11+, 13+ and 16+ scholarship;
• Produce regular reports for inclusion in the Epsom website, Ezine, The Link and the Epsomian and ensure that social media is maximised to highlight all positive aspects of netball at Epsom;
• Build relationships with local netball clubs, staying up to date with latest pathway opportunities for talented athletes;
• Nominate individuals for awards as required (colours) and ensure that appropriate opportunities are made available for individuals to gain representative honours;
• Play a key role in the development and leadership of an off-season development programme;
• Work with the Director of Sport and Director of Netball to plan the long-term development and coaching strategy for netball at the College;
• Contribute to the sports programme at Epsom across all three terms and assist the Director of Sport/Director of Netball with the delivery of the Sports Scholarship Programme and any other reasonable tasks.

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
• Must have extensive experience of playing or coaching Netball to a high level;
• Demonstrate a clear and comprehensive understanding of the contribution of sport and activities to an individual’s wider development and improvement;
• Evidence of proven ability to motivate and encourage participation in activities;
• Display excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills to engage with pupils and the wider College community;
• An understanding and appreciation of safeguarding protocols and health & safety procedures;
• Evidence of strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently, with a proactive, flexible and positive approach to all duties and responsibilities;
• Evidence of good working knowledge of IT software including Word and Excel;
• Demonstrate the existence of excellent administration skills and attention to detail;
• Display a good understanding of school sporting commitments;
• Demonstrate evidence of diplomacy, discretion, professionalism and an ability to keep one’s counsel as required;
• Be able to contribute to three terms of sport, being able to offer coaching in one or more of our major sports.
Terms and Conditions
Hours
During term time including Inset Monday to Friday 11am to 6pm.
Saturday as required by fixtures timetable (typically 8:30am to 5pm).
Attend pre-season training and tours.
Total salary
£30,700 per annum for the above working arrangement.
Holidays
The post holder will be entitled to the statutory minimum holiday entitlement under the Working Time Regulations which is to be taken during school holidays in accordance with the published dates in the College calendar. Subject to commitments such as sports tours and pre-season training, the post holder will not normally be required to work during normal school holidays.
Pension
The College operates the Epsom College Automatic Enrolment Scheme. The Scheme is administered by the Pensions Trust. Eligibility is based on statutory criteria. If eligible, the Employee will be required to contribute a minimum of 5% of Basic Salary and the College will contribute 4% in compliance with pension regulations.

Offer of Post
The post will be offered subject to receipt of satisfactory written references, pre-placement medical assessment, proof of appropriate qualifications, a check of online search engines and websites of publicly available information that does not identify the candidate as potentially unsuitable to work within a school setting, a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and overseas police check if appropriate, as well as confirmation that the successful candidate is able to work in the UK.
