VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large and well-known Public Sector Organisation with the recruitment of a Waste Strategy Project Officer to join their team based in Antrim. This is a Full-Time Monday - Friday position. 37 hours per week. Monday - Friday 9 - 5. Salary £37,229 per annum, plus benefits. The Project Officer will support the Waste Strategy and Sustainability Manager in delivering waste management projects, focusing on harmonising kerbside waste and recycling services. This includes working with internal and external stakeholders, managing procurement, and ensuring project delivery meets objectives within budget and time frames. Responsibilities: Assist in planning and implementing waste management projects. Maintain project documentation and monitor performance against objectives. Prepare tenders, manage contracts, and oversee budgets. Ensure financial targets are met and compliance with funding requirements. Track and report on project progress. Support project teams in communication, training, and continuous improvement. Identify funding opportunities and assist with grant applications. Support departmental goals with flexibility and teamwork. Comply with policies on health, safety, equality, and diversity. The Ideal Person: Degree in a relevant field or 3+ years of relevant experience. 2+ years in project management, procurement, contract management, and budget control. Experience in waste management. Strong interpersonal, organisational, and planning skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Valid driving license or equivalent transport. Flexibility to work outside normal hours as required.
