The ideal Building Surveyor? Someone with solid experience in these sectors, with a sharp eye for construction contracts and expert-level CAD skills. The package
1. Up to £60,000 basic salary per annum (will pay more for Chartered status)
2. Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (flexibility around starting and finishing times)

The Building Surveyor role
1. Conduct building surveys, inspections, and condition reports for residential and educational properties
2. Undertake Quantity Surveying tasks, such as cost estimating, tender analysis, and cost management
3. Act as an Employer's Agent, managing project delivery on behalf of clients
4. Project management responsibilities from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
5. Provide expert advice on property matters, including structural defects, repairs, maintenance, and building pathology
6. Prepare and manage project specifications, schedules of work, and contracts
7. Utilise CAD software to create and amend drawings in support of project development and planning
8. Administer construction contracts and provide comprehensive contract management services
9. Engage effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes
10. Conduct dilapidation surveys, party wall matters, and other property-related assessments
11. Produce detailed reports, feasibility studies, and recommendations for clients
The person
1. Proven Building Surveying experience in the residential and educational sectors (essential)
2. Experience in Quantity Surveying, Employer's Agent, and Project Management roles (desirable)
3. Proficiency in CAD software, with the ability to create and modify technical drawings
4. Strong knowledge of construction contracts
5. Excellent project management and client-facing skills
6. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
7. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites as required (essential)
