CMA Recruitment Group are currently exclusively supporting a rapidly expanding property group with a portfolio valued at over £300m. Based at the company’s Fareham head office, this Head of Finance role offers a unique chance to lead the finance team during a key period of growth. What will the Head of Finance role involve?
1. Leading the finance department, overseeing month-end, real-time financial reporting, and budgeting for multiple entities.
2. Implementing and refining group-wide reporting frameworks, ensuring accurate real-time KPIs, cash reporting, and board presentations.
3. Managing the treasury function and ensuring compliance with VAT and CIS regulations.
4. Supporting the Group Financial Controller (GFC) and Group Finance Director (GFD) on corporate transactions, asset acquisition modelling, and other strategic projects.
5. Overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including supplier and subcontractor management, sales invoicing, reconciliations, and cash forecasting.
6. Leading the preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with auditors for UK and international entities.
7. Driving internal initiatives to enhance processes, improve financial modelling, and optimize KPIs and management information.
8. Continually evolving and managing financial systems, procedures, and controls, including the development of the Financial Procedures & Controls Manual across the group.
Suitable Candidate for the Head of Finance vacancy:
1. ACA/ACCA qualified, with extensive experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the property or real estate sectors.
2. Strong experience in management accounts, statutory reporting, and leading month-end processes.
3. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team.
4. Commercially astute, capable of balancing strategic and operational responsibilities, and providing insightful financial advice to senior leadership.
5. Proactive, persistent, and able to independently drive projects forward.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
7. IT proficient, particularly with advanced Excel skills, and experience with integrated accounting systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous).
