GSL Education are offering an exciting opportunity for Psychology graduates to work as Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Huddersfield. Whether you aspire to a career in education, mental health, or child development, this role provides hands-on experience working with students in a dynamic school environment. As a Psychology Graduate, you will be either working as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or as a Cover Supervisor (CS). In this role, you will provide one-to-one or small-group support, helping students overcome learning challenges and develop confidence in the classroom. You will lead pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged in their learning. Both roles offer an excellent foundation for those considering further training in teaching, educational psychology, or related fields. Psychology Graduate Responsibilities: Support students’ learning and well-being in a one-to-one or group setting. Assist teachers in managing classroom activities and lesson delivery. Supervise and deliver pre-set lessons as a Cover Supervisor, maintaining classroom order. Implement intervention strategies to support students with additional needs. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to school staff. Build positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement in education. Adapt to different classroom settings and year groups as required. Psychology Graduate Qualification that we need: A recent degree in Psychology or a related subject. A passion for working with young people and supporting their development. Strong communication and organisational skills. The ability to adapt to different school environments. Prior experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential). An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
