About The Role
We have a permanent vacancy of Group Buyer at untypical. The post will support all 3 areas within Group Commercial, Surveying/Estimating and Buying and will be based at our Bury St Edmunds office.
The key aspects of the role will be as follows:
* Supporting Group Commercial Director & Head of Procurement with establishing best practice procedures documents for regional Commercial & Buying teams.
* To establish and maintain a suite of standard housetype schedules for materials for regional buying teams & Group Estimating to utilise.
* To provide scheduling and measurement support to Group Estimating function to service the Regional Land acquisition process.
* To provide admin support to Head of Procurement for new group trading agreements.
* To provide admin support in updating the Subcontract Trade specification/scope of works documentation to aid efficiency of Subcontract procurement to aid consistency of specification with group trading agreements.
* To provide admin support to setup and maintain consistent finishing specifications for different tenures to aid effectiveness of group trading agreements.
* To supplement/support regional buying teams during periods of significant procurement/account queries to ensure site progress is maintained to programme. Including providing holiday/sickness cover if required.
* To provide support to Group Commercial Director & Group Head of Procurement best practice processes of: materials & subcontract procurement & Estimating across the business. Including supporting on the following:
o COINs plot specific order templates (to enable accurate plot costings per house type)
o Setting up and maintaining a Plot Cost Tracker
o Material Procurement Trackers
o Exception expenditure Trackers (Lost/Stolen/Damage etc)
o Implementation of Coins catalogue pricing to support compliance of group agreements
o Communications/Chasing supply chain compliance and support for both CQMS & Supply Chain Sustainability School
About You
* Proven experience of procurement practices and processes within a residential developer
* Computer skills (Microsoft packages)
* Working knowledge of COINS
* Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
* Competent IT skills working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Office and COINS
* Effective communication both written and verbal
