Adult Care in Rochdale are looking for Occupational Therapists to join them in delivering an excellent service to our residents in Rochdale.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapists to join us to support in delivering a responsive, strength based approach in supporting the residents of Rochdale.
The neighbourhood model is leading the way in delivering innovative care services in our borough and the Occupational Therapists are contributing to this. Our service is at the heart of adult care, in helping to enhance our residents’ lives, reduce health inequalities and support independent living.
Our dynamic Community Occupational Therapy Team team consists of a team manager, advanced practitioners, occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants. We have also a recently established Occupational Therapist Apprenticeship and regularly support student placements from local universities.
The role includes assessment and recommendation of equipment and adaptations for adults with a range of conditions including learning disabilities, mental health, complex needs, older people and those with long-term conditions.
You will support the discharge of residents from 24-hour care to home as well as completing risk assessments and advising on packages of care in the community and in 24-hour care settings.
STARS is a short term intensive reablement programme that is available to help people to live at home following a stay in hospital or if there has been a change in a person's care and support needs. The aim of the service is to support people to regain independence, re-build confidence and re-learn skills that may have been lost due to illness.
STARS are expanding and currently have one OT and 2 OT Assistants. The successful OT will manage a busy short term caseload and support with hospital discharges and promoting independence. The work is fast paced and very rewarding .

Applications are welcome from staff who have experience or may like to enhance their skills. We are a friendly supportive team who share knowledge, learning and skills.
The successful OTs will manage their own caseload, working alongside social care colleagues as well as the Integrated Health Team and home care providers amongst others.
Opportunities for training and enhancement are available in house with a busy training schedule. Progression to Grade 8 is encouraged with support from advanced practitioner OTs.
The OTs have their own Practice Development Group (PDG) and work closely across the borough to support and share learning. Clinical supervision is from an advanced practitioner OT.

The work is predominantly hybrid with office, duty base and home working.
The post holder’s must be able to demonstrate an ability to travel around the Borough of Rochdale.
This post is subject to a satisfactory two-year reference history, Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, medical clearance, evidence of essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
