Procurement and Materials Management Assistant - Band 3
The Procurement and Materials Management team based at Grantham & District Hospital, have a need for full time Procurement & Materials Management Assistant on a permanent contract.
This post is full time working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 08.00 and 16.00 based at Grantham & District Hospital.
The salary applicable to this role will be £24071.00 - £25674.00 (please note: new entrants to the NHS start at the bottom of the scale in accordance with Agenda for Change requirements)
This role will start on or after 1st May 2025
Main duties of the job
The role:
To provide a Procurement and Materials Management service to Theatres, Wards and Departments.
To develop, and maintain, relationships with staff in end-user departments to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with the service provided.
To ensure safe and accurate receipt, and timely distribution of goods.
Qualifications
* GCSE/O Level Grade C or above in English & Maths; or equivalent
* Computer literacy to RSA level 2 or above or equivalent
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of moving and handling techniques
Experience
* Experience in a comparable purchasing/logistics/retail environment.
* Experience at operating as part of a team.
* Experience at operating autonomously.
* Experience of using Information Technology
* Experience in a large and complex logistics organisation.
* Experience at providing a high level of customer service.
Skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Use of Information technology.
* Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
* Interpersonal skills and the ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
Special requirements
* Will be required to undertake some moderate physical effort involving the movement of heavy cages and boxes.
* Ability to complete tasks according to objectives and on time.
* Flexible approach.
