If so, we want you to lead our high-performing bid team as Head of Bids As our new Head of Bids, you’ll be responsible for all of our bid activity, successfully leading and developing our existing bid team of circa 10, who are responsible for pipeline management, tender responses, contract term reviews and coding / pricing of products. Working cross-functionally, the team work on hundreds of bids a year, with a total value of £100mil in potential revenue The role is a hybrid position, ideally 2 to 3 days a week in our Hull office, but we're happy to discuss this with candidates, with occasional travel when required. Key responsibilities include: Being accountable for the identification, capture and maintenance of all relevant opportunities Leading and managing the workload of the team to deliver efficient and high-quality tender response collateral (incorporating creation and maintenance of a ‘bid library’) and submissions Monitoring the progress of opportunities and intervene in order to maximise the ability to positively influence opportunity outcomes Defining, implementing and utilising pipeline management reporting and ways of working to drive performance and report on progress / improvement requirements Influencing cross functional stakeholders to determine bid / no-bid decisions and the strategic fit and tender response proposition for opportunities (e.g. price, ethics, range, etc.) Informing the pricing strategy through historic insight for each opportunity, with appropriate approvals Responding timely to RFP / RFQ requests, compliant to Arco standards and pricing Designing and implementing a post-tender review process for wins and losses, capturing key learnings to enable continuous improvement of the opportunity management process On top of working for the UK’s leading integrated health and safety experts, you’ll also receive: A highly competitive starting salary plus up to 17% annual bonus 32 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays, plus the option to purchase up to 5 more days 2 fully paid Community Volunteering days every year An excellent pension and Life Assurance scheme A huge range of high street retailer discounts to help with cost of living via MyArco Perks Free, 24-hour access to our Employee Assistance Programme Access to our Learning Management System, to support your personal and career development Long-term service awards – we’re proud to have employees who have worked for us for 40 years The ideal Head of Bids will be/have: Experienced and hold relevant qualifications in bid and proposal development A proven track record of developing high performing bid management / sales / customer service teams Demonstrable project management skills / qualifications Experience working in a matrix environment, influencing, and driving results across other functional areas Strong commercial finance understanding Extensive experience of delivering excellent presentations to a wide variety of audiences A sound understanding of end-to-end customer processes – from account set up, data structures, core list management, product sourcing and integration, supply chain management, order fulfilment and customer experience A proven track record of success in delivering financial targets and / or sales objectives About Us With a 140-year legacy, Arco are recognised as the UK's leading safety experts.
