Who You Are As a Support Worker at Llys Elian, you are a dedicated and compassionate individual with a deep understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults, including those living with dementia. You have the ability to maintain fitness for safe manual handling, and you are registered with Social Care Wales as an Adult Care Home Worker, or will be within six months. Your qualifications include, or soon will include, NVQ/QCF Health & Social Care Level 2. You are fluent in English and capable of communicating in Welsh at the required levels. Your interpersonal skills shine through as you communicate respectfully with individuals, families, and colleagues. You are resilient, both physically and emotionally, to meet the demands of the role, and you can safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable adults effectively. What the Job Involves You will be integral to developing and delivering a 'home from home' service at Llys Elian as part of the Community Support Services team. In this role, you’ll provide holistic support tailored to individual needs, including practical care such as personal hygiene and dressing assistance, medication administration, meal preparation, and supporting day-to-day domestic activities. Engaging individuals in social activities and meaningful connections is a key responsibility, and you will work to maintain their life skills, leisure interests, and social networks. You must ensure adherence to safety and hygiene practices, uphold confidentiality, and maintain accurate records of your activities and observations. Participation in team meetings and training is crucial for your growth and service development, and you will contribute to the team’s efforts to ensure an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment for all residents. Lastly, flexibility is essential, as your position may require providing emergency cover with timely availability.
