Job Title: ICT Teacher - Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Location: Oldham, Lancashire
We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and dynamic ICT Teacher with a passion for special education to join our inclusive and supportive school located in Oldham, Lancashire. This role is full-time, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. If you are a qualified teacher with experience in teaching ICT/Computer Science and have a proven track record of working with students with special educational needs, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated ICT lessons in line with curriculum standards.
2. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to provide equity and excellence to students of all ability levels.
3. Adapt teaching resources to meet the diverse needs and interests of SEND students.
4. Continuously monitor and assess student performance, maintaining accurate records and providing timely feedback.
5. Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and social development.
6. Employ specialized teaching methods and tools to meet the unique learning requirements of SEND students.
7. Collaborate with other teaching staff, support staff, and multi-disciplinary teams to enhance the educational experiences of students.
8. Participate in professional development activities and stay up-to-date with current trends in ICT education and special needs education.
9. Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on student progress and engaging them in the educational process.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
1. A qualified teaching status (QTS) in the UK, or an equivalent for overseas-trained teachers.
2. Solid experience in teaching ICT/Computer Science at the required level.
3. Demonstrable experience working with students with special educational needs (SEND).
4. An Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
6. A committed and flexible approach to teaching and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Desirable:
1. Overseas qualified teachers are welcome to apply, provided they have relevant UK teaching experience.
2. A strong commitment to professional development and a willingness to engage in additional training to support student needs.
Salary:
Competitive salary ranging from £170 to £220 per day, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
