Are you passionate about driving innovation in education? We are seeking a creative, experienced and dynamic Head of School to lead our Engineering team that will ensure effective delivery, guidance, and support to all students. This role will champion an inclusive, high-quality, and innovative curriculum portfolio for the school and for the wider College, contributing to the wellbeing and success of all students.
The Role
Working closely with the Assistant Principal for the school, you will explore and take forward strategic projects and relevant business cases for improving and enhancing the curriculum, student support, and initiatives to improve the overall student experience.
You will play a key role in leading, motivating and supporting all staff within the school to ensure effective delivery of services to students through clear communication of business objectives and alignment of individual and team objectives within the College Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing leadership for the enhancement of the school’s curriculum and services, contributing to the College's strategies and operational planning processes.
2. Develop and maintain partnerships with key bodies such as SDS, Fife Council, schools, universities, and industry partners in relation to curriculum development, knowledge exchange, and pathways to learning and employability.
3. Lead on and develop collaboration in support of positive internal and external stakeholder engagement at all levels to ensure sustainability and growth across the school portfolio.
Qualifications and Experience - what we’re looking for:
1. Educated to degree level or with demonstrable relevant professional experience at SCQF level 9 or above.
2. Teaching qualification.
3. Qualifications relating to a subject area within the department.
4. Track record of sustained academic leadership consistent with a senior role, including employer engagement.
5. Proven experience of innovation and development of successful methodologies in support of learning.
6. Understanding of the FE and HE education sector in Scotland and the UK.
7. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
