Key Responsibilities
• Participate in training programs and educational courses to enhance your understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts and practices
• Shadow experienced engineers and technicians to observe and learn about manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and troubleshooting techniques
• Take initiative to ask questions, seek clarification, and actively engage in learning opportunities provided by mentors and supervisors
• Assist engineering teams in conducting experiments, tests, and data collection activities to evaluate manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement
• Provide support in setting up and operating production machinery, tools, and equipment under supervision
• Help maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and regulations
• Contribute to engineering projects by assisting with research, analysis, and documentation tasks as directed by project leads
• Gain exposure to project management principles and practices by observing and assisting in project planning, execution, and evaluation activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives within specified timelines and budget constraints
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational excellence
• Propose ideas and suggestions for process improvements based on your observations and learning experiences during the apprenticeship
• Learn to use tools and techniques such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to identify and address performance gaps and opportunities for optimisation
To be successful in this position, you will have/be;
* 5 GCSEs at Grade C/5 or equivalent, including Mathematics, English, a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills
* Attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and safety protocols
