Job Title: Engineering Technician
Overview of the Role:
1. Working Hours: 37 hours per week
2. Shift Pattern: 2 shifts, rotating dayshift and backshift
3. Dayshift Only: Monday to Thursday 06:30 to 14:45, Friday 06:30 to 13:15
4. Shift - Dayshift: Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 14:15, Friday 06:00 to 12:45
5. Shift - Backshift: Monday to Thursday 14:15 to 22:30, Friday 12:45 to 19:30
6. Starting Salary: Base £27,500 per annum plus 15% shift allowance, overtime available
7. Holidays: 25 days per year plus bank holidays

Role Responsibilities:
1. Possessing a proactive attitude, you will work as part of a multi-skilled team, providing technical support to mainly the press machines alongside manual and automated gas cutting machines.
2. Duties will include consumable/tooling monitoring and management, identification of process improvements, and introduction of new parts and processes supported with documentation inclusive of Standard Operating Procedures and setup sheets.
3. You should be familiar with working within an industrial manufacturing environment. A flexible attitude towards overtime is essential.
4. Knowledge of press breaks, oxyfuel cutting machines (automated or manual) would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided.
5. Tooling selection, tool management, knowledge of CAD/CAM, and overhead crane experience would be beneficial within this role.
Job Vacancy: Engineering Technician - Press
Responsibilities:
1. Use appropriate safety equipment and techniques to adhere to company procedures and promote safe working practices to others.
2. Assist with new part introduction and development, including the supervision or manufacture of any tools/jigs required, production of standard operation procedures, and programming/setup of machining processes.
3. Provide coordination between the quality, engineering, and production departments to ensure achievement of KPIs and KRAs.
4. Ensure that team members follow defined standard operations and comply with quality requirements, assisting with shop floor induction and process training.
5. Monitor and manage the tooling/consumable usage within the section, identifying trends in both usage and damage.
6. Conduct daily shift handovers with engineering, production, and management teams.
7. Mentor and develop department trainees/apprentices.
8. Provide production support across the section as and when required.
9. Identify, carry out, and record data for process efficiency improvements across the plant.
10. Any ad-hoc duties as required from time to time by the production engineer or any member of the management team.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. Apprentice trained or appropriate industrial experience
2. CAD experience (beneficial)
3. Overhead crane experience (beneficial)
