We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the execution of national grid projects, with a primary focus on substation development. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering and have substantial experience in the design and construction of primary substations.
The project consists of a Battery Energy Storage System ("BESS") located near the Wilton International site, utilizing an existing 'transmission' connection at the Greystones 275kV substation. This substation is owned by National Grid and is situated on the site that was formerly Teesside Power Limited.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in design and design management, with a focus on substation design, electrical systems, and protection schemes.
* Desirable : Experience with BESS Units.
* Proven experience in electrical design management, with a focus on national grid and primary substations.
* In-depth knowledge of substation design, electrical systems, and protection schemes.
* Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent knowledge of NG Technical Specifications and Transmission Procedures.
* Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* TP141 Authorized.
* Desirable : Member of the MIET / PMP / APM
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of the EPC Contractor’s design and engineering against the agreed Programme
* Support the EPC Contractor in ensuring the HV Design is issued as per Client and National Grid Requirements
* (including Bilateral Connection Agreement Requirements, ONCC Deliverables and Grid Code).
* Act as the liaison between the Client’s Engineer and the EPC Contractors Design Team.
* Attend, participate and chair design and engineering meetings.
* Review and comment on design and engineering submissions from the EPC contractor, in-line with contractual timescales.
* Work with the document controller to ensure the wider Client project team are aware of design and engineering submissions.
* Log and monitor Client and Contractor issued RFI’s and ensure the timely closing out of raised RFI’s.
* Attend and participate in other meetings as required – National Grid, Interface Meetings and Site Meetings.
