Job Outline (Key Objectives)
* Provide assistance and support to the Group Head of Health & Safety with the integration, maintenance, and protection of health & safety systems within the Halfords Group.
* Act as the primary contact for the Redditch Support Centre in all matter’s health & safety.
* Coordinate administrative duties within the central health & safety department.
* Support general day-to-day queries and manage both internal and external communication.
Key Responsibilities
* To provide support and assistance to the Group Head of Health & Safety and surrounding leadership team within the health & safety department.
* Collate, maintain, and provide written reports for health and safety performance as directed by the Group Head of Health & Safety.
* Coordinate correspondence relating to Employee and Public Liability claims; ensuring all records are kept updated whilst maintaining confidentially at all times.
* Provide support in investigating accidents, incidents, significant events, and colleague safety concerns.
* Support and liaise with enforcement agencies in conjunction with our Senior Health & Safety Business Partners and Group Head of Health & Safety.
* Assist the health & safety leadership team in maintaining effective working relationships with Halfords Directors, Managers, Colleagues, Trade Unions, Partners, Contractors, and all other relevant stakeholders.
* Provide both competent and expert advice to colleagues when called upon.
* Assist management and departmental heads with site improvement plans to aid continuous improvement in all matters related to health & safety.
* Play an active role in the production and distribution of training materials (training certificates, packages, standards manuals, and safety pack).
* To support in the overall delivery of the Halfords Group Health & Safety Roadmap
* Undertake office and distribution audits & inspections to proactively identify where health & safety management practices and overall standards can be improved.
* Actively participate in Visible Safety Leadership (VSL) tours.
* Identify, promote, and raise awareness of ‘Good Practice’ throughout the Halfords Group.
* Support and participate in department, corporate, individual, and sponsored projects.
* Represent the Halfords Group in a positive manner.
* Ensure you maintain a healthy and safe working life balance whilst working for the Halfords Group.
ESSENTIAL
* Experience within a similar role.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
* Able to prioritise and meet strict deadlines.
* Flexible and able to work independently.
* Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
* Effective team player.
* Dependable & highly motivated.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent navigation for the use of Microsoft Office applications such as word, excel, power-point, and outlook.
