My client is a leading firm within the construction industry and is looking for either:
* Accounts Payable
* Finance Manager
* Financial Controller
* Accountant
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a 4 day per week office based position, with the option of 1 day per week on top from home OR in the office if preferred.
The role:
* Responsible for processing of all bookkeeping transactions in line with the finance procedures and deadlines set including payments, invoices, income and receipts.
* Maintaining an overview of the nominal ledger raising any queries or ambiguities with the finance director.
* Manages the reconciliation of the supplier statements within the financial system and any escalated queries are resolved.
* Responsible for the filing of periodic reconciled VAT and CIS returns in line with the required procedures.
* Maintain and report the overview of the creditors ledger monthly to the Finance Director and follow up any actions required.
* Process periodic payment runs for suppliers and subcontractors in line with approved invoices from the Finance Director.
* Undertake ad hoc payment runs as requested by Directors ensuring all paperwork is correct and filed appropriately.
* Maintain and report the overview of the debtors ledger raising any debtors over 60 days and implement the procedures to manage bad debtors.
* Responsible for undertaking credit control procedures in line with the financial timetable.
* Responsible for verifying the accuracy of accounts and alerting the Finance Director of errors.
* Work closely with the FD to prepare the short term cash flow forecasts.
Where required, support the Purchase Ledger Clerk with the logging of purchase invoices.

* Sage
* Outlook / Microsoft package
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience of historic bookkeeping procedures up to trial balance.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Highly organised and can work to scheduled deadlines.
* Good Excel skills and other Microsoft products.
* Accountancy qualification up to ACCA applied skills level or equivalent accounting experience.
* Proficient in the use of Sage 50 accounts software.
* Can work independently or as part of a team.
* Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and International Accounting Standards.
