Your role at Digital Catapult will be to direct delivery of one or more major (£10m+) projects and programmes to drive exceptional impact for the UK, through the purposeful adoption of deep tech. Your initial assignment will be to direct successful delivery of the UK Digital Twin Centre, accelerating the adoption of digital twins to drive global competitive advantage for businesses across the UK.
Reporting to the COO, the Project Director will provide extensive delivery expertise, experience of delivery into industry, a calm, collaborative and confident approach and strong leadership skills; directing the delivery team assigned in from our Centres of Excellence, building a strong and productive working relationship with the assigned Programme Manager, managing customer and stakeholder relationships, translating impact objectives into actionable plans, and seeking paths to sustainability and project growth.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)
· Define and document measures of success for the project.
· Develop, implement, and execute the overall project delivery strategy to achieve those business goals.
· Define milestones, financial plans and impact tracking and drive successful delivery against them.
· Lead, direct and mentor the diverse team assigned to the project.
· Identify and secure opportunities for expanding the scope and duration of the project to drive additional impact, revenue growth and sustainability and support with project / programme risk management.
· Act as the primary point of contact and represent the project internally and externally; build strong trusted relationships with project stakeholders.
Requirements
· Experience in delivering large scale technology projects in an industrial setting; previous experience in the marine, aerospace and defence sectors and with digital twin technologies is advantageous.
· Adept at managing customer and stakeholder relationships; influencing attitudes, decisions and actions for mutual benefit.
· Collaborative, committed and an inspiring leader who can generate a high performing team culture.
· Strong financial acumen and experience managing large budgets, both grant and commercially funded.
· Experience with project governance and risk management.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Inspired by the application of deep tech and our purpose to drive exceptional impact for the UK.
· A recognised project and programme management qualification is desirable.
