Job Description Job title: Financial Controller Package: £60-£70k Location: Bristol – City Centre (hybrid working with 2/3 days in office) Reporting to: FD Job type: Full time Our Client Our client is a high growth consultancy SME. With a small, friendly team based in Bristol, they are looking to recruit an insightful and diligent Financial Controller who will manage the finance department and provide financial information to assist with their future growth. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the management team and will work across the business to help improve the way they operate and drive efficiencies. Financial Controller - The Role As Financial Controller you will play a central role overseeing the financial processes and assisting the SLT with strategic decision making. You will be required to get into the detail, whilst also being a confident communicator and comfortable presenting financial data. Key responsibilities include: Ability to provide sound financial and commercial management, including budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management; Developing appropriate accounting procedures and policies; Preparing the monthly accounts providing insightful variance and profitability analysis; Develop systems to improve reporting requirements; Managing and supporting members of the finance team; Managing the payroll and VAT function; Liaise with external accountant and tax advisers; Ensure all statutory financial compliance requirements are met; Assist with financial input into tender documents; Assist with ad hoc finance projects. The Successful Applicant As Financial Controller you will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who has experience of working in or with fast growing SME’s. Ideally you will demonstrate: Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels; Experience of managing cash and preparing cash flows; Working knowledge of Xero desirable; Strong analytical, presentation and Excel skills; Excellent communication skills; Commercial acumen; A pragmatic, self-motivated and proactive mindset.
