Your impact
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards in our premium ready to eat, food manufacturing environment. This role will lead Quality Assurance activities, supervise QA/QC personnel, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive food safety, quality standards and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Quality Assurance (QA) team, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements.
* Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HACCP and food safety plans.
* Conduct internal audits, inspections, and corrective action follow-ups to ensure compliance with all quality and safety protocols.
* Investigate and resolve non-conformances, customer complaints, and deviations, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
* Collaborate with production and operations teams to drive continuous improvement in quality and food safety.
* Assist in regulatory, third-party, and customer audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
* Lead and support QA team in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to product quality and safety.
* Maintain accurate and organised records of inspections, test results, and quality documentation.
* Support training programs for employees on quality standards, food safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new regulations, and best practices to enhance the QA program.
About you
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 3+ years of experience in quality assurance within a ready-to-eat food manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and third-party audit standards (SQF, BRC, etc.).
* Experience leading a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
* Proficiency in quality management systems, statistical process control, and root cause analysis beneficial.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or shifts as needed.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
* HACCP level 3
* Internal Auditor certification or similar
* Physical Requirements:
* Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment, including exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
* Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
* Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
