We have an exciting new opportunity for a support nurse working within the Fibroscan service at Ipswich Hospital. You will be responsible for delivering the day-to-day clinical activity of the fibroscan service within the hospital including cross-site and community services as required. This will include conducting fibroscans and delivering meaningful health promotion and patient education where appropriate.
You should have experience within gastroenterology, with an interest in liver disease and will be capable of working autonomously within a robust protocol to ensure patients are seen and escalated appropriately by the right clinician and within the right timeframe, whilst supported by our team of nurse specialists and consultant gastroenterologists.
Please note, this vacancy can be offered as a Band 5 developmental opportunity for the right candidate who may not have all the desired experience as stated in the person specification. The successful applicant should have a full driver license and access to their own vehicle
• You will manage a nursing caseload of fibroscan patients, working with the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate care and follow up as appropriate
• You will work with the clinical lead and senior nursing team in the development and implementation of a direct access pathway for primary care colleagues
• You will work autonomously following clearly defined policy and protocol, escalating patients where appropriate
• You will give health and lifestyle advice to patients during clinical consultation
